Walking barefoot

barefoot_rock_grassWalking Barefoot ... absolutely great feeling.

We're visiting the countryside house and I decided to throw off my Vibrams and try walking around in our natural state. Surprisingly it didn't hurt at all! The ground was actually soft and even with twigs and pine needles around I did not feel any pain. Even if you step on a pine cone your foot manages to step softly on it while landing on the other parts of that same foot much more forcibly. Seems like there is a lot of balancing happening unconciously no matter how try you try to focus on it and follow the process through. Believe me, I tried.

I guess I got so used to walking with Vibrams everywhere that walking on bare ground was a walk in the park. I should mention that the massage you feel on your feet beats any wellness spa visit. Bare ground is free and gives all and even more benefits than any professional masseusse can. That's at least my opinion on this subject.

Don't have to worry about wetting your feet, they dry in absolutely no time. I dipped into the lake in front of our cottage, well, dipped my feet only and then walked back. The trip is only 25 meters and my feet were wet and got covered with grass on the way back. Once I reached the porch I had to only mildly wipe them on the carpet and they were good enough to go inside.

I've managed to survive during the evening with bare feet outside as well. During the evenings it gets colder and damper, the grass gets damn too. The up side of walking barefoot is that you get such a good massage and consequently excellent circulation that even if my feet feel cold I am warm. Quite a weird feeling considering when wearing shoes I start shivering in damo and cold weather and this time I was still walking in capri pants and a top while everyone around me was wearing long sleeves and college pants.

All hail barefootedness.
